Difficulty: Recommended for adults and schoolchildren aged 10–17.
Distance: 14 km; can be shortened to 8 km for younger children under 10, with the final stop at Dulebino village.
Route: Observation platform near Butkovo – Butkovo – Dulebino – Emelyanovka – confluence of the Smedva with the Oka at Klishino village.
Getting to the Start: Shuttle by car to the meadow near Butkovo village.
Getting from the Finish: By personal car or regular bus.
Season: Spring, summer, autumn.
The “Smedovskaya Hollow” rafting route follows the picturesque Smedva River, described in detail by the writer Dmitry Grigorovich. The valley connects two old water mills along the river, with winding curves, high and gentle slopes, wooded areas, and lush meadows nourished by the river and surrounding hills. The scenery is ideal for photography and offers a serene natural experience.
Key points along the route include Dulebino Village, historically home to the Grigorovich family, featuring a small waterfall, picnic area, and a well for drinking water, and Butkovo Village, with river piers, a gazebo, a spring, and minor river obstacles for practicing maneuvering skills.
The route is 14 km long, with an option to shorten to 8 km for younger participants. The river is shallow with a calm current, small rapids, and minor obstacles suitable for paddling practice. Access to the start is via a meadow near Butkovo, with the finish at Dulebino. Shuttle by car is recommended.
The route is available in spring and summer. The cost is 4,000 RUB per person (minimum 15 participants), including meals on the route, guidance by instructors, and shared equipment such as pots, tents, and group gear. Participants should bring items from the recommended equipment list.

Пейзажи на протяжении всего маршрута красочные, очень подходящие для фотосессий.
Берег местами высокий, однако достаточно и пологих берегов, удобных для высадки.
Вблизи мостков у д. Бутьково в реке есть надолбы, за которые можно зацепиться дном байдарки. Проходить их лучше в отдалении от мостков. Ближе к концу деревни оборудована площадка с беседкой и родником.
Встречающиеся на маршруте бобровые плотины пропилены и дают хорошие возможности для отработки навыков маневрирования. Также посреди реки есть несколько небольших островков, обходить их лучше под западным (левым) берегом.
Река по ширине позволяет одновременно сплавляться большому количеству байдарок и сапбордов.
На пути от д. Бутьково до д. Дулебино встречаются родники, они достаточно хорошо видны с воды, местность и берег позволяют подойти к родникам относительно легко, так что недостатка в питьевой воде на маршруте нет.
