The river is shallow with a gentle current. Portage is required at an old ruined bridge in Meshcherino, and there is a small riffle near Pokrovskoye. The landscape is scenic, with mostly gentle banks and some higher sections, offering many convenient spots for landing and resting.
Low-hanging trees and submerged logs appear along the route but are easily navigable. Both riverbanks provide areas for breaks, and the river is wide enough for multiple kayaks or SUPs to float simultaneously.
There are numerous springs visible from the water.
One kilometer upstream from Pokrovskoye on the left bank is a convenient meadow for camping with vehicle access and a spring for drinking water.
Campsites are equipped with fire pits, and overnight stays are possible.
