Detailed route description:
The trail begins at Zakharova Street in the Kolychevo district and proceeds across a field to Akatyevskoye Highway,
passes through the village of Sychevo,
and then dips into a ravine via a small bridge – here you can enjoy the vast fields sown with cereals, among which cornflowers and daisies shine brightly.
From Semenovsky Pond, the path leads to the Velyushka River, where a dam was built several years ago, creating a small lake. You can pause here and admire the beauty of the landscape.
After this rest stop (approximately 5 km covered), a mixed forest begins, striking with its wild nature and resonant silence.
The trail is simple yet varied: it alternates between forested sections and views of picturesque valleys.
Next, the trail leads to a designated rest area with benches and a table (the first ravine), offering breathtaking views.
The mixed forest transitions into a coniferous forest. Due to the local terrain, it gives the impression of being in the taiga, and breathing the clean, almost taiga-like air brings a sense of lightness and pleasant fatigue. Here you can refresh yourself, rest, share impressions of the hike, and take photographs.
The trail then follows a dry canyon of a small stream (a tributary of the Sholokhovka River), whose bed is lined with white limestone, flanked on both sides by majestic pines enveloped in a mysterious, enigmatic aura.
Walking along the stream, crossing it several times, leads to two more large ravines, where you can observe the dry stream bed filling with water.
The trail then opens into a wide space with panoramic views: near the village of Zakharkino,
a steep hillside blooms with wildflowers in spring, exuding a honeyed fragrance; later, meadow strawberries ripen here. Wild ducks may unexpectedly take flight right from under your feet!
The trail crosses a spring with an open gazebo.
Here, hikers can refill supplies of clean water, quench their thirst, and rest. The trail then follows the left bank of the stream, revealing intriguing views of the surrounding wilderness.
On the outskirts of the village of Zinovievo, the path passes by a small footbridge,
then climbs upward to the “Zinovievo” bus stop, where the first part of the route ends.
From here, you can take buses No. 34 or 29 to Kolomna. https://rasp.yandex.ru/bus/kolomna–belye-kolodezi
The second part of the route starts from the lower part of Zinovievo (bus stop “Apraksino”). https://rasp.yandex.ru/bus/kolomna–belye-kolodezi
On the left bank of the Oka River, it is possible to set up overnight camping, and on the second day, continue the hike to Kolomna (distance approximately 9–10 km).
On the southern outskirts of Kolomna lies the historic site Devichye Pole, where in 1380 the Russian army gathered before the Battle of Kulikovo.
Memorial markers have been installed here. From this high slope, scenic views open over the surroundings and the opposite bank of the Oka River, as well as a view of the Church of the Warrior-Martyr Theodore Stratilates in the neighboring village of Bolshoye Kolychevo.
The route concludes at the Dmitry Donskoy Embankment, from where it is possible to reach central Kolomna by bus No. 13 https://rasp.yandex.ru/bus/bus-station-golutvin–naberezhnaya-kolomna or by tram No. 2 or 4 to Golutvin railway station.
Note: Due to hurricane-force winds, fallen trees may block parts of the trail, which are bypassed via vegetation-covered sections of 100–300 m. Approximately 20% of the trail passes along slopes and hillsides, and there are canyons with steep cliffs.
