Osyotrovye Hiking Trips
The stunning landscapes of the Osyotr River valley will impress everyone. Our club has developed a full range of hiking routes along the riverbanks, suitable for participants of varying skill levels and all weather conditions.
We offer a 12 km hiking route where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the remote corners of southeastern Moscow Region.
Waterfalls on the Gremukha River route
We invite you to an exciting one-day journey through the remote protected areas of the Moscow Region. The proposed route is rich in interesting sites and unforgettable landscapes.
You will see the unique canyon of the Gremukha River with waterfalls. Walking through this rocky canyon feels more like the Caucasus than the Moscow Region. Elevation differences here reach up to 100 meters, and the stunning views stretch for many kilometers.
Defensive Structures of the Vozhskaya Zaseka route
We invite you to walk along the ancient border of the Moscow Principality and visit the historic defensive structures of the Vozhskaya Zaseka.
The route follows rural roads along the Vozha River.
Along the way, we will explore historical objects of the defensive line.
To the Shchepotyevsky Ponds route
The route is very easy, designed for beginner tourists. Total distance – 6 km. It passes along the outskirts of Kolomna and nearby surroundings.
From the meeting point, we walk along sunflower fields, past Sychevo village, cross a stream via a small bridge, pass Semenovsky Pond, and reach a cozy clearing on the shore of a pond near Shchepotyevo village. The walk from the meeting point to the clearing takes about 1 hour.
To the Sholokhovka River
The picturesque and unusual canyon of the Sholokhovka River is located very close to Kolomna and impresses with its beauty.
The terrain here is unique, and the rocky riverbed resembles a mountain stream.
The route to the Sholokhovka canyon passes through fields and groves, offering remarkable landscapes along the way.
Along the Ancient Path to the Sennitsy Estate
We invite everyone on a hiking excursion through the Zaraysky and Kolomensky Districts, with a visit to the Sennitsy Estate. The starting point of the active part of the route is Protekino village in Zaraysky District. Here, we will enjoy scenic views of the Osyotr River valley, see the new Church of St. Basil, Bishop of Ryazan, and drink from a spring. Then we will follow a 6 km route along the road to reach the Sennitsy Estate.
Perevitsk Hillfort route
We invite you to spend a day on the scenic banks of the Oka River and enjoy stunning landscapes. On this route, we will see the remains of the ancient town of Perevitsk. The route passes along steep banks reminiscent of the Caucasus foothills. We will climb majestic peaks and conquer the formidable ramparts of the ancient hillfort.
This tour is ideal for those who love nature, hiking, travel, and active recreation.
On Grigorovich’s Trails route
We invite you to visit the places where the great Russian writer Dmitriy Grigorovich once lived. You will enjoy the natural beauty of southeastern Moscow Region, see the tallest waterfall in our area, cross a suspension bridge over the river, and view the remains of structures from Peter the Great’s era.
This tour is perfect for those who love nature, hiking, travel, and active recreation.
Natural-Technogenic Reserve route
This route introduces unusual traces of human impact. We will visit a patch of desert with pure white sand, explore man-made earthen mounds overgrown with forest, and see large industrial quarries.
The hike is suitable for participants of any age and skill level.
Distance of the walking part: ~15 km.
Starting point: Voskresensk urban district.
Nagornaya Dubrava route
This route combines diverse aspects of active educational tourism.
Nagornaya Dubrava is a relic forest that gives the route its name which is known for its unusual flora: trees, shrubs, and grasses not typical for central Russia. This natural anomaly is complemented by the rich history of the Moscow Region, where humans have lived since the Neolithic. All this beauty can be experienced in just a few hours of an active route.
Moscow Region ‘Karelia’ route
The route is interesting and unusual for the Kolomna District. The landscape is highly diverse: young pine plantations give way to dense pine forests, which transition into mixed woodland. Numerous forest streams and small rivers appear along the way, some crossed via picturesque wooden footbridges.
The route passes through the ancient village of Konev Bor, featuring a small, cozy wooden Church of Cyril and Methodius and a horse-breeding farm.
Steppes of Osyotrovye route
This relatively short route combines sites rarely seen together in southeastern Moscow Region, making it a multifaceted gem among similar routes.
The first notable stop is a cedar grove, unique for central Russia. From the forest edge near the grove, the trail leads to the historic Nikolsky Trakt, which likely connected the upper Don region with the Moscow Principality as early as the 11th-12th centuries.
Taezhny route
The route is roughly divided by Zinovievo village into two sections of approximately equal length, each of which can be considered an independent short route of up to 12 km. Therefore, it can be completed partially—from the bus stop in Zinovievo village (or the turn to Apraksino), it is easy to return to Kolomna.
The trail is simple yet varied, alternating between forest paths, scenic valleys and fields, and natural bodies of water.
